Burbo Bank Extension

The Burbo Bank Offshore Windfarm Extension is located in the Liverpool bay area. It will feature 32 Vestas V164 8 MW wind turbine generators, currently the largest most powerful available on the market. This will result in a total capacity of 258 MW, supplying up to 180.000 households. Commission of the farm is planned for the 4th quarter of 2016. For the installation of the 32 monopiles, MENCK is once again deploying the largest hammer of its fleet: the MHU3500S with a 6.5m pile sleeve, powered by 3 MHP 1600 hydraulic power packs in parallel setup. It is operated from the offshore construction vessel SVANEN, deployed by Van Oord.
