Big Foot TLP deepwater pile driving

Big Foot

Discovered by Chevron in January 2006, Big Foot is considered to be one of the largest and deepest oil discoveries in the Gulf of Mexico. The field is located on Walker Ridge Block 29, roughly 225 miles (362 kilometers) south of New Orleans, in 5,000 feet (1,524 meters) of water.

The discovery was made when the Big Foot No. 2 well encountered 300 feet (91 meters) of net pay. The Cajun Express semisub drilled in approximately 5,000 feet (1,524 meters) of water, reaching a total depth of 25,127 feet (7,660 meters).
